Portfolio Project

Image
Portfolio Project Artist Statement:     In this project, I compiled all of my work from the semester. InDesign gave me an opportunity to put it together in a creative way; It is aesthetic and easy to present. My theme for my portfolio was ocean/beach. I used a blue background with a wave pattern. My text was a fun font and bright yellow to tie in the theme and it stands out! This was a fun project and I cannot wait to display all of my hard work from this class!

Business Card

Image
Business Card Artist Statement:           I was inspired to make a business card for my photography. I periodically will take senior pictures and portraits for UT students. I wanted to make a simplistic card, so it did not take away from the important information on the card to contact me. My logo colors have colors like blue, yellow, black, and white. I really wanted to incorporate these colors; so I used those colors for the font and background design. Overall, this project was very sucessful.

Self Portrait Poster

Image
Self Portrait Artist Statement:      My self-portrait propaganda poster was inspired by the vote poster. I am very passionate about the environment, so I thought I would have mine say RECYCLE. I used green colors to go along with the theme. Additionally, I put recycling signs in place for my pupils. This was a very challenging project for me because I have never used Illustrator before. Overall, the project was fun and I want to use this skill I gained in the future!

It even showed how to type with a shape. This video was very helpful and I hope I can use some of the skills I learned in the future.  Second Video: This video explained how to create a page for different pieces of work. It showed how to control the margins and columns of the page. This is really important if I wanted to make a pamphlet or certificate. Third Video: In this video, it explained how to make a magazine layout for print and web use. It explained how to flip the position of the page and split them in half. Additionally, the video demonstrated how to add images and text onto the page. This video was very helpful and I hope I can use some of the skills I learned in the future.

Autoscopy

Image
Autoscopy Artist Statement:     I took this picture about a year ago. A butterfly landed on my shoulder and my friend and I thought it would be a great idea to take pictures with it. We tried to direct it towards our noses and it even posed for us. I was inspired to use blue butterflies in this project because the butterfly itself had blue and it would make my eyes pop more. The dark blue makes me think of night, so I also included the moon and galaxy. This ties in all of the colors and themes. I also wanted to add a cloud with a butterfly on it to continue the theme of night and dark blue butterflies. This was a very fun project and I really enjoyed it!

BW to Color

Image
BW to Color Artist Statement:      I was inspired to use a picture I took at the beach because it had a lot of details to work with. I wanted to use vibrant colors in the edited images to simulate tropical vibes. I used similar bright colors in each picture, but I changed the positions of the color to see if some colors make a difference in different parts of the image. Original: Edited:
